This may seem like an obvious one but its important too dust off the tape measure and have a look at where the furniture will be placed. If it fits, then consider how will the furniture impact the space, too small in proportion too other pieces or over powering, or just right.
This depends on whether you are dressing a room from new or adding a piece of furniture too existing ones. Darker woods have a more dramatic impact on a space where as lighter woods will create space.
